Officer Mason Jordan left the force in 2021 as he was under investigation. He was later arrested on separate charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.
Newly released disciplinary reports show the sergeant was trying to protect his officers from a potentially violent confrontation with a suspect.
HPD is reupping and possibly expanding its body camera program to more officers.
